According to a report by Yabaleft Online on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, members of a church in Mexico claim to have seen the statue of the Virgin Mary crying.
This happened at El Chanal and it has stirred mixed reactions from social media users, with people trooping into the church to see the crying Virgin Mary themselves.
Several videos and pictures shown on social media platforms show tears gushing out of the statue’s eyes, trickling down its face.

A resident of the community identified as Ramos said, “Similarly, when we cry, and our eyes become red, the same happens to the image.
“So a couple of tears started flowing. This is the event, the phenomenon that is happening here in the church.
“We can associate it with the violence rates that are being experienced here in the state of Colima, also here in the community”, he said.
Maria Mercedes Hernandez, said: “Peace, may she give us peace in Colima and throughout the world, that we may return to the Colima of before.”
