It is no longer news that there is a certain 9 billion Naira belonging to the Egi clan of Ogba land in ONELGA, Rivers State. This controversial Egi’s 9 billion has resulted to division among the people of Egi as the majority wants the money to be shared while others opposed it with reasons undisclosed.
However, Chief Oris Onyiri, a prominent figure in the Egi clan has disclosed a shocking revelation to clarify if the money has been released to the Egi people.
You will recall that few days ago, Eze Victor Egbo, Eze Egi III had issued a 3-day ultimatum to Total Energies. He ordered them to release the said 9 billion Naira to his people or face Egi’s wrath.

This is to affirm that the ‘controversial’ money is true as confirmed by Eze Victor Ego that Total Energies are allegedly trying to ‘claim‘ what belongs to Egi. But Oris’ revelation claims Egi’s 9 billion Naira has been released.
Chief Oris Onyiri: “Thank God it’s now clear that I didn’t eat the money. I fought for that money. Money is just paper, but Total Energies didn’t want to pay it. However, our brother in Total Energies called me and told me about it, and the need to pursue it. So, we reasoned together. Now that we have gotten the money, it belongs to Egi people and not one person”. (Translated from Ogba Language in this video)
Egi’s 9 billion Naira released?
There are rumors that the said 9 billion naira has been released to the Egi people. This was confirmed by one of the prominent figures in Egi who refused to disclose his identity. “The Egi money has arrived finally”, he told GNtv News.
Some Facebook users in Egi also re-affirmed that the money has been released and will be shared soonest as agreed.
Meanwhile, Total Energies workers have been denied access into the company. The reason for this is still unknown as at the time of creating this news. Some speculations suggest it could be linked to the current #HungerProtest in Nigeria. Some also opined that it could be as a result of the recent happenings in the company.
