We Will go on Strike in the Next 21 Days if… – ASUU Warns FG

ASUU STRIKE: The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has issued a stern warning to the Tinubu-led government.

The union warned that they will embark on a nationwide strike in the next 21 days if the federal government does not meet their demands.

Legit reports that ASUU announced the resolution after its NEC meeting at the University of Ibadan on Monday, August 19, 2024.

GNtv News learnt that the agreements the union reached with the government at their last meeting have not been implemented.

A copy of the resolution will be sent to the federal ministry of labour and education, reports reveal.

Some of the demands include implementing the 2009 re-negotiated agreements, paying accumulated academic allowances, and revitalizing university funds.

According to ASUU President, Prof Emmanuel Osodeke, the ASUU strike will commence after the 21-day notice period.
