CBN Appoints Interim Management Team for Union, Keystone and Polaris Banks

Nigeria’s apex bank, Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has appointed a new management team for Union, Polaris and Keystone banks.

This comes hours after the Central Bank announced the dissolution of the management team of the three banks.

The dissolution was a move in response to the result presented by the Special Investigator on CBN, Jim Obazee.

The appointments were made on Wednesday, December 10, 2024, as contained in a statement signed by the Central Bank’s Acting Director, of Corporate Communications, Mrs Sidi Hakama.

“Following the dissolution of the Board and Management of Union Bank, Keystone Bank and Polaris Bank on Wednesday, January 10, the CBN has appointed new executives to oversee the affairs of the banks.

“Union Bank Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer is Yetunde Oni.

“Its Executive Director is Mannir Ringim. Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Keystone Bank would be Hassan Imam.

“The seat of the Executive Director is to be occupied by Chioma A. Mang. The Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Polaris Bank is Lawal Akintola and the Executive Director is Chris Ofikulu”, CBN announced.

Additionally, the Central Bank affirmed that the appointments will take effect immediately.
