Nemanja Matic, a former Chelsea & Man United player has shed light on the stark contrast in professionalism between his time at Chelsea and Manchester United.

According to Nemanja Matic, Chelsea’s players were known for their punctuality and professionalism.

“At Chelsea all the players acted professionally, they were punctual and were never late for training but at Manchester United, it happened almost every day, Nemanja Matic said.

However, at Manchester United, the scenario was vastly different, with notable players consistently arriving late. “Among the players who would always be late were Paul Pogba, Jadon Sancho & a couple of other players”, he added.

Frustrated by the lack of discipline, the punctual ones formed an internal disciplinary committee led by Nemanja Matic. Matic documented latecomers’ names on a wall, collecting £75,000 in fines during a season.

“The rest of us who were always on time were angry. So we decided to form a kind of an internal disciplinary committee with me serving as its president.

“I put a sheet of paper up on the wall where I documented the names of individuals arriving late. During one particular season, we collected around £75,000 in fines”, Nemanja Matic told YuPlanet.
