Chelsea Vs Liverpool: Lauren James Gets First Blues Hattrick As Liverpool Lost 5-1 At Stafford Bridge

Chelsea women were on fire today as they thrashed Liverpool women 5-1 in the Women’s Super League.

Chelsea Women knew they couldn’t afford letting Liverpool grow early into the game if they were to avoid making things harder for themselves in the Women’s Super League title race. Hence the Blues’ attempt at getting an opening goal from kick-off, with high lines to press and keep the Reds with their backs behind their goal.



All the pressure was beginning to get to Liverpool, but they were still holding it together. Unfortunately for them Lauren James opened scoring on the 11th minute.

13 minutes into the game, J. Carter scored an own goal and on the 24th minute, A. Beever-Jones made it 2-1 at halftime.

Lauren James went on to score on 56th and 64th minutes before S. Nusken (78′) made it 5-1 in favour of the Blues. James scored her first Chelsea women hattrick.
