Mudryk almost joined Arsenal in January. Talks between Arsenal and Shakhtar Donetsk looked positive, but Chelsea swooped in at the last moment. Arsenal’s Edu was once sure they’d sign him.
Arsenal kept talking to the Ukrainian side. Then, Chelsea offered €70 million, with €30 million in add-ons. Hours later, Mudryk joined Chelsea.
This upset Arsenal fans. Some even shone green lasers at him during his first Emirates appearance.
Fast forward a couple of months, Mudryk settles in the Premier League. He scored his first senior goal during the international break, and he’s eager for more.
Mykhailo Mudryk shared his joy on Instagram. “First goal it’s always special [star emoji]. Hungry for more [surfing emoji]. Thank you for your support [Ukraine flag and white heart emoji],” he wrote. The post included highlights of his goal against Malta.
