“I’m so sorry”- Ayra Starr Apologize to King Sunny Ade Over Greeting Mishap

Popular Nigerian singer, Ayra Starr, has apologized to renowned Nigerian music icon, Sunny Ade, for allegedly “disrespecting” him at the Afrozons-Heineken Pre-Grammy party in Lagos.

In a video that went viral, the 21-year-old singer was seen greeting Burna Boy’s mother, Bose Ogulu and shaking hands with Sunny Ade.

Shaking hands with the music figure was considered by many people as “disrespectful and inappropriate.”

This stirred a lot of reactions as some social media users dragged her for an act they considered to be disrespectful.

Arya Starr reacting to the incident took to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday to apologize for her actions.

She said she never meant to be disrespectful. “I’m so sorry, I had just walked in and all the lights and nerves didn’t let me see.

“But I came back around to greet everyone properly. I have never been that girl to be disrespectful.

“I’m a proper Yoruba girl, and the video didn’t start until after I’d greeted Burna’s mom!

“I’m very sorry to the legend, uncle and King Sunny Ade,” Ayra Starr wrote on X.
