Israel At War: British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak Makes New Announcement

According to The Jerusalem Post, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced additional funding to safeguard Jewish schools and synagogues in the wake of a surge in antisemitic incidents associated with the conflict in Israel.

The Jewish charity, the Community Security Trust (CST), will be granted £3 million ($3.7 million), according to a statement from Sunak’s office.

Sunak expressed solidarity with Israel in response to recent attacks by the Palestinian militant group Hamas, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the safety of the Jewish community during such challenging times.

He vowed to address any obstacles hindering the protection of the Jewish community, assuring them of full support.

The CST reported a significant increase in antisemitic incidents, with 139 recorded over the past four days, marking a 400% rise compared to the same period last year.

“At moments like this, when the Jewish people are under attack in their homeland, Jewish people everywhere can feel less safe,” Sunak said, reiterating Britain’s solidarity with Israel following last week’s attacks by Palestinian militant group Hamas.
