Reports trickling down the media reveal that a student of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, drowned while swimming in a river in Umuahia.
The victim is a male student in his third year. He is from Uzuakoli, Bende LGA.
He reportedly drowned in the Umuchime River, popularly called Iyi Umuchime (in Igbo Language).
The river is located at Ossah Ibeku village in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State.
An eyewitness said he went to swim with his friends but nobody noticed when he drowned.
GNtv News gathered that the late undergraduate is the only son of his Parents.
This is a sad story, and his family and friends will be left to grapple with the pains of losing a loved one.
