Mauricio Pochettino Unveils ‘Punishment’ Strategy After Chelsea’s 4-1 Defeat To Newcastle United

It wasn’t the game Chelsea fans were expecting to see after a promising form before the just concluded international break. Reacting after the defeat, Mauricio Pochettino unveiled ‘punishment’ strategy for players.

Alexander Isak, Jamaal Lascelles, Joelinton and Anthony Gordon scored the goals as Newcastle defeated the Blues 4-1. In the game, Chelsea Captain, Reece James was sent off in the second half but were already 3-1 down. Raheem Sterling converted a free kick in Chelsea vs Newcastle.

As expected after the game, the players are to rest before training ahead of their next game. However, the coach has made a U-turn on that as he said, “We will go to the hotel, then train early tomorrow, no time off. We need to understand the level we need to compete, and learn”.

Speaking further, Mauricio Pochettino said: “It’s a young team, they need this type of situation to realise.

“Oh yes, we can’t blame players, it’s the team together.”.

This was disclosed in a post on Facebook by Fabrizio Romano.
