My God, We Were Lucky -Jurgen Klopp Digs At Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo & Romeo Lavia

Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp, couldn’t resist taking a subtle dig at Chelsea over their acquisition of Moises Caicedo.

The Ecuadorian midfielder, who arrived at Stamford Bridge with high expectations and a hefty transfer fee, has endured a challenging season, drawing attention for less-than-stellar performances.

Klopp, in a recent statement via Facebook per Romano Fabrizio, remarked, “The summer we had, we had a few strange things happen in the transfer market but here, between us, I can say ‘My god, were we lucky, eh?

“Thankfully, the crowd could laugh and we can joke about the events now. Moises Caicedo has flattered to deceive so far and Lavia is yet to play due to injury.

“We didn’t know that in that moment and it didn’t feel like it in that moment, but yeah, I’m really happy that it worked out, but you never know before”.

Further shedding light on Liverpool’s transfer strategy, Klopp added, “We obviously realised that other central defensive midfielders don’t want to join Liverpool, you see what happens, and then we found (Wataru) Endo. He’s an exceptional player.

“Thank god we looked about things twice and had a bit of a deeper look and it was clear we want this boy.“He wanted to come definitely and that helps.”

As Caicedo’s struggles at Chelsea become more apparent, Klopp’s words add an intriguing dimension to the narrative, leaving fans speculating on what might have unfolded had the midfielder chosen Anfield over Stamford Bridge.
