Real reason why Samu Omorodion’s move to Chelsea collapsed

It’s no longer news that Chelsea’s proposed move for Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion has collapsed. It was previously reported that Chelsea had agreed a £34.5million (€40m) deal with their Atletico Madrid for Omorodion. But at the ending part of the deal, it collapsed as reported by Fabrizio Romano. He was expected to a years deal with Chelsea with the option of a further year.

Why the deal collapsed? The transfer is off due to a major issue with finalizing the 20-year-old’s contract. Chelsea has since inquired with Atletico about signing Joao Felix. In June, Chelsea’s €32.5m (£27.4m) offer for Omorodion was rejected. Omorodion spent last season on loan at Deportivo Alaves, scoring nine goals and providing one assist.
