Rivers State Unveils Groundbreaking Digital Systems to Revolutionize Healthcare Delivery

Yesterday, the Rivers State Ministry of Health introduced two new digital services: the Rivers State Health Regulatory System (RIVHEALTH-REG) and the Hospital Management Information System (MEDIXTRAK), aimed at improving healthcare delivery. Dr. Adaeze Oreh, the Honourable Commissioner for Health, highlighted that these services align with the Health4AllRivers strategy’s pillars on Health Information Systems & Data Management and Health System Leadership & Governance. She emphasized their potential to transform healthcare standards through evidence-based practices and improved leadership.

RIVHEALTH-REG streamlines the regulation of healthcare facilities with features like online registration, regulatory compliance, provider verification, and enhanced communication, aiming to improve efficiency and transparency. MEDIXTRAK manages hospital operations and patient care with features such as digital record-keeping, automated routine tasks, and optimized resource management, which together aim to reduce errors and enhance hospital management.

Both systems, having been successfully piloted, are now set for broader implementation.
