Video: “Wike Sent Abuja Police to Fire Teargas at Us” – Protester Claims

While the nationwide Hunger Protest continues, an Abuja-based protester has claimed that FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, instructed the police to fire teargas at them.

The protester made his claim via a video posted on Facebook on Friday, August 2, 2024.

Speaking in the video, the protester called out Nyesom Wike saying it was not the country they needed, they were not fighting anybody, and that it was their right to protest.

Additionally, he said what Wike did was not good as they didn’t fight. They just sang songs and exercised their rights.

“Wike, this is not the Nigeria we want. We are not fighting anybody, look at what your boys are doing. Wike, it is our right to protest.

“See what he is doing. We did not fight. We just stood and sang our song but Wike sent Abuja police to fire teargas at us.

“It’s really bad. Take a look at my face. You cannot beat us and still teach us how to cry. We are hungry and are suffering… ” the protester said. (Some of his words were translated from Pidgin).
