Wike Does Not Have the Power to Cause Fire in the Party. He is no God – Adekunle Akindele

The immediate past chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Dr Adekunle Akindele, has said that former Rivers State governor, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, cannot put fire in the PDP, and that he is not God.

Dr Adekunle Akindele made this statement during an interview with Vanguard on Sunday afternoon, September 15, 2024.

Speaking further, he said that Wike is now a past governor, and should respect Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the incumbent governor of Rivers State.

Additionally, he commented the Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Umar Damagum, saying that he is doing his best to resolve the interna crisis in the party.

As reported by Vanguard, Adekunle Akindele said: “Wike does not have the ability to cause fire in the party. He is no God.

“He is a former governor, and now we have a governor in place and he should give them their space and respect.

“I won’t rule out the possibility of Fifth Columnist in the party but we have what it takes to tackle that.

“The National Chairman is doing so much. He is a democrat and a party man to the core.

“I think he won’t allow the party to disintegrate during his tenure. He is doing so much to resolve the problems in the party”.

GNtv News recalls that Nyesom Wike had threatened to “put fire” in any PDP state whose governor supports Fubara in the lingering crisis in the state.
